Crossing the Veil Together: A Dream About Being Seen and Finding Self-Compassion
"I went underwater and sensed I stayed close to the surface with my shamanic ancestor. We held hands and crossed the veil together under the water."
This participant came to Guided Dreaming with a vulnerable challenge: pushing through her fears of being seen.

During her underwater waking dream, she didn't go alone. Her shamanic ancestor, Dalia, was with her—wearing her headdress, bear claw necklace, sash, and moccasin slippers. Together, they crossed the veil under the water.
"I felt I was in flow with the water. The water had small swells like a lake and the water was dark."
Then she sensed the octopus.
"I saw the colour red. Then I focused on the octopus' blue eye and connected with its compassion and empathy. I felt the octopus to be rubbery."
In that moment of connection, a profound realization emerged:
"I am you, you are me, and we are we."
She put the healing bubble around Dalia and herself—and felt safe.
The insight?
"My waking dream offered me to be compassionate and empathetic towards myself while I practice dream reflection with other people."
The compassion she so naturally offered to others—she was now invited to offer to herself.
She didn't need to push through her fears alone. She had her ancestor. She had the octopus. She had the bubble. And she had herself.
That's the transformative power of dreaming while awake.
