The Octopus with Yellow Eyes: A Dream of New Beginnings
"When I was asked to look into its eye, it had yellow eyes and I could see anything that exists in this world. It felt very beautiful and mystical."
This participant came to Guided Dreaming without a specific challenge. Instead, they asked a simple, open question: Show me anything I need to know right now.
What came next was unexpected.

First, they saw themselves on a beach they had visited on the Isle of Mull many years ago—a place that felt like "the end of the world."
Then, they were underwater, surrounded by beautiful coral. But something was disturbing the peace: a shark, persistent and unwelcome.
Then, something strange happened.
"Hearing a cat in the call made it disappear."
And in its place came the octopus—only this octopus had cat ears and whiskers.
"The octopus kept changing colour from blue to purple to green."
They were asked to look into its eyes.
"It had yellow eyes and I could see anything that exists in this world. It felt very beautiful and mystical."
The insight?
"I see it as doors opening and new beginnings. This is very much aligned with how I feel in my life right now. I am opening new doors and taking many opportunities. I'm also about to start a course in transpersonal coaching psychology, which feels like it will open up a whole new world."
They didn't need to change anything—they were already on the right path. The dream simply confirmed it.
"I didn't feel many emotions throughout except for peace and a sense of beauty at the end."
Their mental outlook shifted from 80 to 85—and they left with a quiet knowing that new doors are opening.
That's the transformative power of dreaming while awake.
